Larry Gibson For Grande Prairie UCP Nomination
Proven Business Experience
Proven Commitment and Advocacy
As a born and raised Albertan, I am proud to announce that I am running to become the official UCP nomination candidate in the riding of Grande Prairie.
Grande Prairie Roots
For nearly 20 years, I have proudly called Grande Prairie my home. My wife, Tricia, and I have 4 children between us—3 of which still reside in the city. I’ve been a part of our city’s growth all this time, witnessing firsthand how we contribute to the great province of Alberta.
Business and Corporate Experience
With over three decades working in the electrical utility industry—including twelve years of senior management experience—I have established a successful consultancy specializing in assisting commercial clients with monitoring their utilities. Through my extensive knowledge of the industry, I provide valuable insights to my clients, helping them achieve significant cost savings by identifying inefficiencies in their energy usage and proposing innovative solutions.
Giving Back to Community
Community involvement is core to my values along with my wife, Patricia Millward Gibson, who spent seven years creating twenty neighborhood associations for the City of Grande Prairie and who is an active Rotarian. My volunteer background includes:
- 16 years at local Muscular Dystrophy Association as President
- Member of local Accessibility Advisory Committee
- International Paper Environmental Advisory Committee
- Careers Next Generation Board Member at Large
- 9 years Grande Prairie and District Chamber of Commerce board member including 2 years as Board Chair
Participation in community, large or small, matters to me. So, many times, you’ll find me selling dream home lottery tickets, BBQing for local events, or assisting in any way for the good of our community.
Focusing on Leadership
Throughout both my career and volunteer life, I have had the privilege of leading large teams with the goal of working through complex scenarios. I feel the world we live in has no shortage of complexity right now, and that these challenges are best solved working together, drawing on the strengths of our constituents and Albertans as a whole.
I want to protect the prosperity of Grande Prairie. I know the strengths of this area well, with evidenced entrepreneurial spirit, collaborative approaches, diverse voices, and a get it done attitude. I am committed to represent, promote, and ensure the area is successful for generations to come. With my background in business, utilities, agriculture, and community I know I have the skills and acumen to represent the residents of Grande Prairie for the United Conservative Party.
Lets unite and Elect Larry Gibson to be your UCP candidate
